About the Instructor

I’m Kimberley, and I was born and raised right here in Kingston, Jamaica. My sourdough journey started simply because I wanted to get back to basics and learn how to make the things I love from scratch.

To be honest, I really struggled with a lot of the information out there at first—it felt overcomplicated and didn’t always account for our local heat and humidity.

I decided to dive deep and put in the time to truly learn the art for myself, and what started as a personal challenge quickly turned into a full-blown obsession. There’s just something about the process—water, flour, and a lot of patience—that hooked me.

I created The Doughjo to cut through the noise and take everything I’ve learned about baking in our Jamaican climate to make it easy for others to do the same. I’m not just here to teach a recipe; I’m here to help you fall in love with the craft and bake amazing bread in your own kitchen.
